About Us.


 Lorenzo first established Calabrisella in the October of 1979.  After previously working the Caribbean cruise ships for many years, he met his wife on board and ultimately decided to make Tasmania his new home.

In the era when olive oil was something one discreetly whispered for at the chemist, pesto was never heard of, and locals cringed at the concept of semi-dried tomatoes, Lorenzo took a chance.

Now. spanning over 3 decades, and two room expansions, he and his daughter Katia, still delight the locals with their natural talent for Mediterranean fare. Travelling to Italy each year Lorenzo brings back local, traditional flavours from the Ionian Coast, creating inspirational signature dishes for the most dedicated aficionado of Mediterranean cuisine.
